Head Coach Sam Leal of the University of Maine at Farmington Men’s basketball team joined the show to discuss the Beavers strong season. UMF have one final regular season game this Saturday, they host the University of Maine at Augusta Moose.
Middays with Mannix & Mannix: Ed Feeney & Margo Maller 2/8/24
Ed and Margo joined the brothers to discuss the Ed Feeney Access to Athletics Fund. Anonymous donors have given the Foundation for Portland Public Schools (FPPS) a $50,000 matching donation to launch the Ed Feeney Athletics Fund, named after retired Portland High School girls’ basketball coach Ed Feeney. When Portland Public Schools coaches, teachers, or school social workers learn of a student who lacks basic athletic gear to play sports, the Foundation can now purchase that gear for students.

Emily Esposito joined the brothers to discuss her “EM-POWERMENT” movement and how she is giving back to the Gorham community as an assistant coach with the Rams girls basketball team.
Middays with Mannix & Mannix: Cary & Beth Drake 2/7/24
Cary and Beth Drake joined the brothers today in honor of National Girls & Women in Sports Day. Cary discussed her senior year at York High School and her next step which will be attending Northwestern in the fall where she will continue her athletic career along with academic. Her mother Beth is raising money for her 4th marathon, this time it will be the Boston Marathon that she is running in for the first time. She is working to raise money for an organization based in York called Strong Girls United which empowers young girls through athletics. If you’d like to donate, do so here.
