We were joined by two founders of Wahda United FC, club director Abdibarri Hersi and manager Abdijabar Hersi, to tell us about the semi-pro club based in Lewiston playing out of the United Premier Soccer League Division 1 (2nd tier). They’re home opener is this Sunday at 5:00 pm against Southwest FC of Bridgeport, Connecticut at Don Roux Field at Lewiston High School.

We also talked about the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals (and the Europa League quarterfinals), Bayer Leverkusen securing the Bundesliga championship with 5 matches to spare (and are still unbeaten in all competitions this season), and Manchester City ascending to the top of the English Premier League standings again.

Maine Mariners coach Terrence Wallin joined us on the heels of his team securing a Kelly Cup Playoff berth with an overtime win at Adirondack on the final day of the season on Sunday. They’ll head right back to Adirondack to open their best-of-7 series against the Thunder on Friday night.
